Please note that members of Harborne Golf Club have the authority to police both the course and the clubhouse in the absence of the General Manager, Club Professional and the Committee.
Members are at all times responsible for the attire of their guests. Guests must be informed of dress requirements in advance to avoid embarrassment.
DRESS CODE - ON COURSE
Acceptable
Collared shirts or Turtle necked shirts
Tailored trousers.
Tailored shorts may be worn by men or ladies.
Men's shorts must be above the knee.
Men with shorts must wear either long socks, of any colour or plain white ankle length sports socks, discrete logos are permitted.
Trousers must not be worn tucked into socks (unless plus 2's or plus 4's).
Men's shirts must always be worn tucked in.
Golf shoes must be worn on the course and practice areas.
Not Acceptable
Tops displaying large motifs or large wording
Denim jeans of any colour or those types of jeans bearing brand names or other similar motifs, or studded in any way.
Cargo type shorts with side pockets, elastic or drawstring waist trousers or shorts.
Round neck T-shirts
Football type jumpers, shirts or other sports shorts
If wearing long socks they are to be pulled up
Sandels / Trainers are not allowed in or around any part of the golf club.
Boat shoes without socks
Anklet socks or trainer socks of any kind are not permitted. Ankle must always be covered.
DRESS CODE - WITHIN CLUBHOUSE
Acceptable
As above with the addition of:
Men's shorts may be worn in the Lounge or Dining room until 7.00pm, after this time, shorts will only be permitted in the members' bar area. In exceptional circumstances, the President, Captain, General Manager or Chairman of house may extend this time period.
Men's shirts must always be worn tucked in.
Golf shoes may only be worn in the locker room or in the members' spike bar area.
Not Acceptable
At no time are players permitted to wear within the clubhouse bar & Lounge areas, Over Coats, Anoraks or any other kind of Waterproof golfing attire. These include Golfing slip-overs or wind cheaters.
No golf shoes are to be left in either the members lounge or Dining area; these must always be left in the locker rooms.
Hats of any description must not to be worn in the clubhouse
Jacket & Tie Events _ Members events only
Notification will be given on each event sheet as to the presentation timing, and whether the presentation is formal in terms of dress code, if this is the case, Club tie and jackets will be expected to be worn.
Failure to abide by these guidelines will result in the refusal of admittance to the Clubhouse and golf course.
