What looks a straightforward par four can bite you very quickly. Many medal rounds have come to grief on this starting hole. From the tee a dogleg right any ball right of centre from the drive is likely to catch one of the four deep bunkers set in the ridge. Long hitters of the ball can also find themselves running out of fairway from the drive in summer months. Short drives often leave the second shot taken from one of the many sloping fairways to a well guarded green.
