John has been a member at Harborne GC for 12 years and was elected President in Nov 2010 having spent the previous 3 years as chairman of Membership. He was brought up in Bearwood studying at St Phillip’s Grammar School, lives locally at Warley Woods and has 3 grown up children.

A career in Information Technology & Software spanning over 30 years, John is currently Sales Director for US based Oracle Corporation. He enjoys most sports and was a keen footballer in his earlier years. He is a passionate supporter of Aston Villa along with his wife Val. He is also a trustee of a small charity set up 10 years ago.

A very keen golfer, his goal is to reach single figures at some point in the near future. He enjoys the variety of social activities at the club and is proud of the many changes that have taken place at HGC over the last 5 years, which is the envy of many other local clubs.

George Whitehouse was elected Captain in November 2009. George moved to Harborne in 1979 from Hay Mills, where he was born.
He has been a member of Harborne golf club since 1985.

After a career in production management he is now semi-retired and working within Birmingham City Council education services.

Goerge's other sporting interests are football supporting Birmingham City FC and Rugby Union.

Sarah Priestman has been a member of Harborne GC for 5 years having come to golf relatively late in life. She was previously a county badminton player and keen skier and squash player.

Since joining Harborne Sarah has been a regular member of the Ladies First and County League teams. Sarah also enjoys gardening, bridge, walking and spending time with  her grandchildren in London.
