Club Night Results

Club Night had a great feel to it this week.  Whether it's the weather or the lure of the carvery, I'm not sure but we had a full patio, bar and restuarant.  Pat and her team were certainly kept busy.

We also had a new record set (well as long as I've been following the draw anyway) of winners on two consecutive weeks plus it was a lady winner for a change (sorry guys).  Toni Crutchley left for home £125 better off and when asked what she intended to spend it on she replied laughing 'me!'  Congratulations Toni.  Next week's draw remains at £125.

Another indicator of a busy Club Night is the Club Raffle and this week it stood at £230 and was won by John Lee whose name was picked out by Thelma Lilley's grandson and as a result was rewarded with a bit of pocket money to spend during his last few days in England before returning to Toronto.  Congratulations John.

Mr Captain also took the opportunity to congratulate Steve Michael, Man From Atlantis, on his charity open swim which took place last weekend in Manchester.   He survived the 'washing machine' (you'll have to read the update in the News if you're not following me) and is now trying to cajole his way to the £1,000 target he set himself.

Throughout the evening there was a snooker semi-final being played out and Matt Best stood in as a last minute sub and 'played valiantly' said Aled Morgan.  It was a close run thing which ended up in a decider.  Don Carter's team finally won 3-2.

As the carvery seemed so popular, and all this lovely weather is set to stay with us for a while longer, there will be a summer carvery with delicious desserts next week so book early with Pat to avoid disappointment.
