Happy Memories

I by chance found the article about reminiscences by old friends and i loved the tail piece about my Dad the pink gin and the daffodils. 

I was first a member in 1948 as Dad liked to introduce me to newer members! I recall Brooke Holroyd and many of the names on the Past Captains list and their offspring some of whom must still be around Pat Fraley, Judith Adams, Guy Litherland and of course Jean Roberts and Vernon Dark. We grew up under Bill Button's guidance with that tall young assistant who broke into top golf - Peter Butler of course. Many happy memories all brought back a couple of years ago when i was able to make a return visit for 18 holes - lightening greens but the course was superb Robin would have been so pround of how HGC is... Sadly i missed Pat by minutes i was told!
