Course Manager's Update - Jim's Blog 11.4.14
After the heavy showers from Friday last week until Monday this week the course is beginning to dry out... again. I think this shows just how saturated the course had been over the last few months that a few showers can still knock it back a few days.
Once the wet spell had passed on Monday evening we began to prong the bunkers to allow as much air into the sand as possible and they have been raked every day since Wednesday this week. It took 3 members of staff 6 hours to prong the bunkers which takes up most of the working day. This was why the bunkers were not raked afterwards on Tuesday as we simply did not have enough staff to carry out all of the duties required to set the course up on a Tuesday morning for the Ladies i.e. changing holes and greens set up.
The greens have been cut and rolled today and will be rolled again on Saturday morning as they are still a little uneven at the moment.
The forecast for the weekend is good so although it is not Factor 30 sun lotion just yet, it is warm enough to go out and enjoy a round of golf during the Masters weekend.
