Sandwell Park Seniors v HGC Seniors

Sandwell Park 4 1/2  Harborne  1 1/2  

Glorious conditions greeted the golfers for the match at the challenging Sandwell Park course.  Pre match talk mainly centred on Aston Villa's success the day before and Rick W's trip to Wembley!

With the matches underway - there was a problem when one of the Sandwell players failed to turn up - which resulted in our pair of Terry Harvey and Steve Griffin sportingly offering a 'half' in that match - which was gratefully accepted.

Allan Steer and Peter Voase were our 'stars' of the day with a comprehensive 5 & 4 victory - but it proved Harborne's only success.

The Greens proved challenging to all and in the end home advantage counted. 

The Seniors still look for their first success of the season - hopefully it will come against Enville on Friday under the Captaincy of Gary Abraham.
