Hagley v Seniors

Hagley  5  Harborne  1

On a bright and sunny morning the Seniors of Hagley and Harborne set out to play for the Jack Northam Trophy – currently held by Hagley.

The morning started badly for Harborne with Hugh Jenkins reporting in ill with food poisoning. Fortunately Colin Gregg answered the call and got out of bed to come and play as replacement.  The course was in good condition (except the 3rd) which was closed for maintenance – but Harborne could not produce winning golf – with only 2 halves to show for their efforts – from Colin Gregg/Dave Bates and Dave Kettle/Bob Wright.

Hagley offer a prize to the visiting player closest to the pin on the 6th hole – which was won by your captain – beating Bob Payne by a small margin.  The morning ended with an excellent meal and the presentation of the Jack Northam Trophy to Hagley.

Harborne hope to win the trophy back on home ground next May.

Many thanks to Dave Orchard, Seniors Captain, for his report.
