DETAILS OF CLUB COMPETITIONS - MEN

Monthly: Medals will be played in three divisions - handicaps scratch to thirteen, fourteen to twenty and twenty one to twenty eight.

Mid-week (Wednesday): Medals will be played during the year in one division only. Open to all playing categories.

Peter Butler Bowl: Medal round handicap limit 23 but higher handicaps may play off 23 handicap. Play off in the event of a tie - 18 holes then sudden death. Juniors not eligible.

Gilbert Memorial Cup: Limited to members over 50 years of age with a handicap of 12 and over. Medal round played with an April Medal. Best eight scores qualify for knock-out.

Veterans Cup: Limited to members over 60 years of age. Medal round played with an April Medal, best four scores qualify for knock out.

Spring Handicap Bowl (36 Holes): Played last Saturday in May - Medal - handicap limit 23. In event of a tie play-off over 18 holes then sudden death. Juniors not eligible.

Gardner Tyndall Cup: Played with May Medal. Handicap limit 28.16 players to qualify for Match Play. Juniors eligible.

Spring Fourball Medal: 3/4 handicap, maximum of 24 but higher handicaps may play off 24 handicap. Juniors not eligible.

Jackson Cup: Stableford 3/4 Handicap: Handicap limit 23 but higher handicaps may play off 23 handicap. Juniors not eligible. Play off in the event of a tie - 18 holes then sudden death.

Middleton Cup: Played with June Medal handicap limit 28. Juniors eligible. Best 16 scores qualify for match play.

Invitation Day: Keith Herne Cup: 18 holes foursomes (morning round) - for best Gross score. No Handicap Limit. Juniors not eligible. John Wilson Cup: 18 holes foursomes (morning round) - for best Nett score. No Handicap Limit. Juniors not eligible.

Club Championship: (36 holes) stroke play - scratch, restricted to Division One players. Juniors eligible. In event of tie 18-hole play off then sudden death.

Frank Evans Family Foursomes: Any relationship to qualify e.g. marriage. Handicaps - Men 28, Ladies 36. Juniors eligible maximum 28 handicap.

Open Mixed Fourball: Handicap limits - Men 24, Ladies 30. Players with higher handicaps may play off 24 and 30 respectively.

Open Mixed Greensomes: Handicap limits - Men 24, Ladies 30. Players with higher handicaps may play off 24 and 30 respectively.

Jean Evans Salver: Mixed Foursomes Medal 1/2 combined handicaps.

Arthur Godlee Cup: Foursomes Bogey. Juniors not eligible.

Allcock Cup: Played with August Medal. Handicap limit 28. Juniors eligible. Best 16 scores to qualify for Match Play.

Brook Holroyd Putter: Foursomes Medal round. Handicap limit 28. Juniors not eligible.

Sydney Dark Memorial Trophy: Medal round. Handicap limit 23 but higher handicaps can play off 23. Juniors not eligible. 18 hole play off in the event of a tie then sudden death.

Victory Tankards: Fourball Stableford. 3/4 Handicap Maximum of 24. Juniors not eligible. 18 Hole playoff in event of a tie.

Butler Horton Cup: Played on December 26th morning. Medal Round. Handicap limit 28. Juniors not eligible.

Tony Bellamy Salver: Stableford full handicap, Yellow tees in October. Open to President, Past Presidents, Captain and Past Captains only.

Homer Scratch Knock Out Cup: First 8 in Club Championship qualify for match play.

Wright Gup: 18 holes Match Play. 1st round drawn in April. Handicap limit 28. Juniors eligible.

Final Medal: Played with July Medals, Qualifiers play in Division in which they won the medal but off current handicap. In the event of a tie play off immediately over 5 holes or 18 holes next morning. Captain to decide.

The Fred Elliott Goblet: Competition to run from 1st April to 31st March. Handicap limit 28. Restricted to members who are 25 years of age or over on 1st April in the year the Goblet is contested. Awarded for the 6 best Monthly Medals.

Finney Shield: (36 holes) Open Scratch Foursomes open to players 5 handicap and under from clubs in Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

"B"Team Trophy: Played with September Medal open to participants in current years "B" Team programme.

Young Golfers (J.M. Alien): Open to members 24 years of age or less on 1st April in the year in which the Goblet contested. Handicap limit 28. Awarded for the 6 best monthly Medal cards during the year 1st April to 31st March.

The Bob Eaves Memorial Trophy: Awarded for the 6 best aggregate gross scores in monthly Medals between 1st April and 31st March each year.

Arnold Churchill Cup: Foursomes Knockout, Handicap Limit 28.

Centenary Shield: Played for annually between the Staff and General Committee of Harborne Golf Club.

Centenary Anniversary Competition: To be held on the nearest Saturday to October 14th each year.
