Marvellous Moor Hall

On a stunning backdrop of the lovely Moor Hall estate the B Team faced a low handicap team of superb golfers. The Moor Hall ground staff had worked very hard to produce a course complete with lightening fast, smooth as glass greens. On the first tee it was noted to the convivial atmosphere from both teams as the pleasant banter between the teams got underway, it was further enhanced by an American (Moorhall Team member)) who produced a large bottle of Black Rock, a noted Tennessee Bourbon and proceeded to offer this to all. Obviously on a rather chilly afternoon this was gratefully received. This continued through the game and was followed with some fine wines and a scintillating dinner of Sea Bass on a bed of fresh hand picked vegetables with a Tarragon and white Wine Sauce, followed by a splendid desert, coffee and chocolates in the rather lovely Dining Room at Moor Hall GC. The atmosphere was extremely enjoyable and a number of Moor Hall and Harborne players continued afterwards at the Bar to discuss some of the finer points of the B Team match.
It may be prudent to ofer congratulations to Mervyn Wood and Phil Read on there fine Half from their match. Unfortunately Mervyn & Phil went off early and missed the Black Rock, a noted Tennessee Bourbon.
