Men's Open

On Saturday the 6th September HGC hosted it's 4th Men’s Open, seeing golfers from as far as Sheffield come to play our great golf course.  A  glorious day was enjoyed by a 100+ strong entries teeing off from 7.30am through to 2.30pm which proved a long day for our starter, Ian Fergusson, who gallantly stood there instructing the field on the rules of the competition and giving some early banter to what was hoped to be, a great day.

Our own Steve Keay posted a mid-afternoon gross 70 off 1 that wasn’t to be beaten, hence winning the gross prize, and Charles Bailey, also from the HGC stable, posted a net 64 off 11 winning the nett prize. Tim Whitehouse stood in for the Captain to present the trophies to the winners.

We look forward to seeing all our competitors again next year.

Many thanks to Adrian Cooper for the report and photo.   Congratulations to Steve and Charles.
